Provenance

When I got married while we lived on the gorgeous island of Kauai, I was honored to wear a traditional haku. About the haku: "This regal lei is often for special occasions, and it can be crafted from flowers, or it may be made with flowers with greenery woven in around them. The process of sewing or braiding this lei together is where the word haku comes from. It is crafted so that each piece on the lei faces outward. The background material is often made from ti leaves, and various types of Hawaiian flowers may be woven in." This abstract floral piece is inspired by the celebration of love a haku represents, and so I named it "With Aloha," which means "with love." Acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas with sides painted white, signed on the side not to detract from the textured surface. Glossy varnish, wired and ready to hang. Please allow 3-9 business days to prepare your painting for shipment. If you need it more quickly, please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate!
